Hi, I'm Kylie Inoa, a 13-year-old softball player and high honors student from the class of 2029. I am passionate about softball and have been playing for a club travel team, where I proudly earned the title of 2024 USSSA Eastern National Champion (12U). BACK TO THE GRIND!
After taking a much-needed break in August following our exciting journey at the 2024 USSSA Nationals Championship in Maryland, we’re finally back to the grind! It feels great to be training again and gearing up for the Fall season.
My First Home Run! (Inside-the-Park) – What an unforgettable moment! I drove in four runs on one hit, helping lead my team to a 9-0 victory over TR Surf. The highlight? We scored seven runs in the second inning alone! It’s been an amazing weekend, finishing first in pool play, and I can’t wait for Sunday to get here!
Bottom of the 2nd inning, 2 outs, no runners on. A hard-hit ball to center field – for a triple to help my team earn runs.
Bottom of the 2nd inning, 2 outs, and runners on second. A hard-hit ball to center field – I gave it my all but just missed it by a bit. The ball hung in the air a little too long, leading to the 3rd out. We are going to get it right!
First game back after a well-deserved break following the USSSA Nationals Tournament. Playing with Bully Ball Prospects against the Hericanes 14U. I'm in left field when a fly ball is hit my way great read on the play for a smooth first out. We went on to win the game 3-2.
In the final game of the 2024 USSSA Nationals Championship against Fury Fastpitch, I stepped up to bat with the bases loaded. I made contact with the ball, resulting in an error that allowed the first two runs of the game to score. What a moment!
Great way to kick off the inning with a base hit just past second base in one of the most important tournaments in USSSA, the Nationals!
With the game tied and a runner on first in the matchup between NJ Thunder and Rampage, the pressure was on as I stepped up to bat. My focus was on getting on base and advancing the runner. I reminded myself of similar situations I've faced before: when behind in strikes, it's crucial to prioritize quality contact, protect the plate, and make solid connections. I delivered a clutch double to break the tie—definitely a moment to remember!

With runners in scoring position and the game tied in the final at-bat with time expired, I needed to put the ball in play to advance the runner and score. Fury's infield was determined to get the out at home plate. I delivered a clutch hit to third, scoring the winning run and sending us to the finals.
This game was a turning point for me, especially after struggling with a slump two weeks earlier in Jackson, NJ, where I struck out looking with the bases loaded. That experience shifted my perspective and taught me to be more aggressive at the plate. The following week, I focused on refining my swing and mentally preparing for similar situations. The results were clear in this friendly tournament: I hit three triples across two games. Yes, I’m aggressive and committed. Work is progress!
This was my second at-bat of the game. After hitting a triple to right field earlier, I stepped up to this at-bat with renewed confidence and determination. With runners on first and third, I had a great opportunity to drive in some runs. The first pitch was high and I fouled it off. On the next pitch, which was in the same location, I made solid contact and sent the ball back to right field. This hit drove in two runs and earned me my second triple of the day.
One triple is impressive, two triples is great, but hitting three triples in a single day is fantastic. The pressure was on during this at-bat with a runner on first and my team down 2-3 against NJ Heat. Was I nervous? Absolutely! I was behind in the count, swinging at a high first pitch but managing to time it. The second pitch was low, so I let it go. The third pitch, just above the last, was called a strike, leaving me in a tough spot. Determined not to strike out, I faced the pitcher’s next delivery and made sure not to miss. I blasted a hard hit to left field, earning my third triple of the day and tying the game. Although this was our first loss of the day, we fought hard in every game, inning, and at-bat. I'll always remember this day.
When my coach gave the call to swing, I knew it was time to make something happen. With the instruction to hit and advance the runners, my goal was clear: put the ball in play and keep the game moving. When the coach says swing, you trust the call and go for it!
